The American Student Association for Community Colleges would like to welcome you to our website.Members and guests alike, we are glad you are willing to take the time to inquire about this organization.ASACC is the only national group specifically focused on community colleges. We seek to promote leadership, advocacy, and citizenship.Twice a year we meet on Capitol Hill to represent 12 million community college students.ASACC has helped us realize that it is imperative for our voices to unite, to continue to be the catalysts for change, and to exert our potential influence that we have over this country.
Every student, advisor, and any other person passionate about higher education is helping to ensure that our futures are bright, and to remind us that it is in our hands. This year we will be advocating on three priorities.Pell Grant has always been a major priority for ASACC, and it continues to be.ASACC would like to thank congress for the recent increases to the Pell Grant. Our second priority is Perkins CTE Funding.Perkins helps our 2 year technical programs thrive, and in turn we can increase the amount of certified persons into the work force.Last, but definitely not the least of our priorities is lowering the independent student age.
Everyday we are working to expand our organization and unite with more students and schools to further strengthen our voices to congress. Every student can make a difference, and every voice will be heard. We extend our hand and invite you and everyone you know that is passionate about bettering our higher education system.ASACC is here to guide the way for students just like myself to making a difference for the future of our education. Please feel to free to contact myself or any members of the leadership team.
Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon.
